The search for a 17-year-old Argentine who was dragged out to sea and disappeared in the Chilean city of La Serena has concluded, and authorities will conduct patrols in the area. According to information from local media, the police stated that the chances of finding Alejandro Iturriaga Cabrera alive were very slim. In this context, his family gathered at the scene to place photographs, light candles, and throw flowers in a tribute to the victim. Drones, aircraft, and vessels from the neighboring navy participated in the operations with the assistance of divers and fishermen, who did not achieve positive results in locating him. The teenager was last seen on Monday, November 17, in the Cuatro Esquinas beach area, where he was dragged by the current. The minor entered an unauthorized area of the beach with loved ones, four of whom managed to be rescued by a Chilean worker.
